qualidade, macios e saborosos. Longo e aristocrático no final." |

"After the vertical tasting, my conclusion was that the 2004
RESERVA was the best wine yet made here. It is powerful and focused,
intense and gripping, showing fine depth, great fruit, and better
structure than the lovely 2003. It will be interesting to watch the
development of this wine, which may yet merit a higher rating, but its
multilayered, intense, yet well balanced presentation was superb." |

"Concentrated sweet, ripe, supple jammy dark fruits nose. Almost
Port-like. The palate is soft and lush with sweet spicy notes. Good
concentration to this dense yet accessible wine." |
|

"Boa cor, excelente concentração aromática, a vegetal seco,
The heavy rain that fell in the autumn of 2003 was followed by a dry winter.
Bud burst took place between the middle and the end of March, and was followed by rapid vine growth during the month of April.
Spring was dry, with rainfall below average for the period and with relatively higher temperatures than normal. June and July were even drier and hotter, producing favourable conditions for fruitset – “desavinho” (uneven development of individual berries within a bunch of grapes – known as millerandage in French) was localized and insignificant – and vigorous vine growth, thus setting the scene for a large harvest.
The harvest started on the 24th September that is exceptionally late from Quinta de Roriz. The rain that fell in the beginning of August and the results of the maturation studies were the reason for the late start.
